I think someone needs to take responsibility to the duty of children in the
hands of Social Workers at Haringey Council ? There are disgraceful
practices going on and blaming the lack of resources isn't good enough. I
hope those who were involved have lost their jobs and will not be able to
work in this type of job anymore?

This is appalling, given that the borough already had form in this area. What happened to lessons being learned?
I was especially struck by the TV interview with the Head of Children's Services, who was at pains to point out that the baby was killed by his mother and her boyfriend and that they rather than Social Services were responsible for this. There's some truth in this, of course, but some may consider that such remarks on the very day of publication of the relevant report are exceedingly insensitive.

The Government seem very rattled today over this matter of child protection at Haringey Council? David Cameron gave Brown an ear bashing at PMQ's, and seems to me Brown is better handling the financial crises at present? Maybe he needs to be focused more on other policy's.
I think someone especially the boss at Haringey Council Social Services should be sacked, or resign at least? |
