Gordon Browns legacy perhaps?

Although the euro itself is a bit shaky at the moment with the differences between the rich North and poor Southern countries becoming more apparent by the day.

The way that sterling is falling it will soon achieve parity with the Euro, which will be very convenient, and forestall all the usual moaning about not being able to understand and convert from pounds shillings and pence.

The US Dollar. There's a thought, and one which was considered quite seriously, at the time of preparations for decimalisation in 1971, and until we actually joined the EU.

We should hang onto our pounds though. Imagine going on holiday to Europe and not having to buy some sheckles or whatever it is the minor nations use to pay for things.

remember the headline....

"Fog in Channel- Continent cut off"....

Far from joining the Euro we should be inviting them to join the Pound.

I wouldn't like to be standing anywhere near Charles de Gaulle's grave the moment that is suggested. In fact, I think I can hear his nose twitching from here, now! Very Happy
