( just got up- was a really tiring day yesterday but worth it for a proper pasty in proper rain.... I also learned that high heels and Cornish village cobble/beachstone pavements don't mix too well Smile Sunny today Smile )

(Ouch, Rach - my ankle's got a twinge in sympathy. I don't need high heels and cobbles - I "fell" off the path down the back garden)

Fill

( oh it wasn't my ankles, Ron, it was the balls of my feet. I was wearing my "new" Victorian" Ankle Boots- so my ankles were well supported but the soles are so thin , it was hurting just to stand on the uneven ground, every step was like walking on nails..)

(I've noticed that with men's shoes recently - soles are too soft and thin, and you feel every little bump and stone, and walking over those "rumble strips" (provided for the blind at crossings and junctions) is just like as you say. I'd go back to traditional hard leather soles but they have a different, worse drawback at this time of year.)

tray

(Morning all. Blue sky, sun's up. Washing's whirring nicely)

Teeth

(Try putting a foam insole in your boots Rachel. I put them in nearly all my shoes/boots these days for the same reason. J. Lewis do some good ones)

eye

(Thanks, Helen, I'll try some of those, I wore the boots the other week in London- walked quite a way without a problem - it was nice and flat though. In Cornwall, maybe I should have thought with a place name like "Cobble Corner" it wasn't going to be easy under foot- usually I wear proper walking boots in Cornwall- so don't notice the cobbles. I'll know for next time) Smile

(A little dull here this morning, and hubby is away for six whole weeks, but I've cheered myself up by doing my entire Christmas Shopping on-line, and used their gift wrap service too.... I know it's a bit of a Margo... but it is easier)

Excellent idea! I do a couple on my list that way, and get accused of being lazy, at which point I feel like inviting them to do all the thinking, buying, carrying, wrapping
and paying!

This talk of shoes reminds me of our last US holiday when I was complaining of aching feet.. ( I usually only buy cheap shoes - about £10 -£20 a time! Laughing )
Whilst in a "Western Riding" store, Mrs SF recommended I buy a pair of "Ariat"s.. a kind of cowboy shoe I suppose.. cost about $90 but they felt like walking on air! I was very impressed. The air filled inner sole makes such a difference!

pigeon

(Not quite sure what's going on: a discernable haze and smell of smoke outside and a pall of smoke in the sky coming from south of the city - nothing on local news though)

(I'm obviously making a furnace out of a pile of matchsticks - have listened to BBC Radio Nottingham for more than half an hour, including main summary at 5pm and there's no local news (apart from football) at all Shocked )

fire

(Nothing came of that last night, at least nothing reported. Was very smokey, though)

(Morning all. Same here, cold and dismal, makes you very reluctant to get up and out of a warm, snuggly bed. No-one late, though, son was out early, but with the dubious motivation of going to buy computer game Call of Duty, released today - long queue for it and he got the last but one copy before they sold out. Mad.)

Bowl

( It was just a bit of shopping followed a typical pub lunch, Ron - I had Steak 'n' Ale pie with chips, washed down with a bladder buster of Pepsi, Mum in Law had Cheese Omelete and orange juice- we talked- I say we talked , I listened, about the good old days....the war years etc - she just starts talking and that's it - there's no getting a word in with an 87 year old full of memories. I often wonder, who will I be talking to, when I'm her age- if I, the World, makes it that far: now and again I think it would be for the best if I didn't)
