I notice from the Radio 2 schedules that the above is a programme going out on ChristmaS Eve at 8.00PM presented by Amanda Holden.

This album contains some absolutely fantastic Christmas tracks by the likes of The Ronettes, The Crystals, Darlene Love etc.

Certainly a programme to tune in for imho.

A brilliant album presented by... oh, her.

I've already got the CD - a gift from a friend some years ago. I think I'd rather just listen to it instead, rather than listen to Amanda Holden prattle on.

Yes, as far as I'm concerned it's just some Christmas songs sung by some of Spector's artists, recorded in his trademark "wall of sound", and they have their place sprinkled among all the other Christmas songs played on the radio or on your stereo/ipod.

Do I want to know every minute bit of trivia or have it all dissected and discussed like some major work of art? No.

It's one of my fave albums Mark! I remember hearing Sleigh Ride when it was first issued back in 63 I think. I was still at school and had no idea it was on this album but the sound just did something to me. I bought the re-issued vinyl in 72 and the CD just a fortnight ago as it's a pain to get out the turntable!

Yes Helen-I completely agree.

My wife bought this album a couple of years ago and guess what, without any reminder from me, she plays this album this at Christmas time while we enjoy the Xmas proceedings-eg opening our presents etc.

Quite simply this album is fantastic. Good to note you agree.

Happy Christmas to you.
