the radio one boss is to tak e over from Lesley Douglas as head of popula r music it has been confirmed.he will not however accept the job of radio 2 controller and will keep his job as radio one boss. This means Bob Shennan is favourite to be new radio 2 controller http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2008/dec/19/andy-parfitt-bbc-radio
Personally I am gutted that Andy Parfitt will not be heading radio 2.Its a great opportunity missed |

So who's going to be head of UNpopular music like jazz, swing, opera, folk, blues and organist that R2 refuses to play during the daytime hours?
Shennan? Who he?

Whoever becomes the new controller of Radio 2 & 6 music, I just hope they are not in thrall of everything Big Brother; doesn't, all but tie themself to one particular talent agency; will start recruiting proper DJs for radio shows who can actually drive the desk, as opposed to just TV celebs (see this artical http://blogs.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/ianwylie/2008/10/russell_brand_the_inside_story.html ) _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |
