I have had a dose of man flu these past few days.

To past away the time since I surfaced from my pit, I have read a book, surfed the internet for some sites I had been meaning to check out, have listed to a few CD's, have listened to Richard Allinson on Drivetime and have watched a fantastic film called the Postman with Kevin Costner-a brilliant film.

Have any of you been off work sick recently-if so, what did you do to pass the time.

Is 'Man-flu' as bad as the 'Nora batty virus' that I suffered from last week, and does it become 'bird-flu' when a female gets it?
I was listening to R2 in the morning, switching to 6 music at 2:00pm. Occasionally watching TV The One Show, needs more than ½ hour methinks; Weakest Link and Deal Or No Deal.

Don't know but shall have to find out, as I'm having an op at the end of Jan and it has a 4 to 6 week recovery period!

Get well soon to all with the flu.

Ian.

I was off for for 7 weeks in March/Early April this year following an operation, it nearly drove me nuts with boredom. I think I saw just about every episode of Midsomer Murders at least twice!

All suggestions welcome. I'm 4 days into flu, stuck at home shivering. If I had the strength I'd be climbing the walls! Crying or Very sad

Something to warm you/make you feel better.

9.30am-12.00 midday each day this week on Radio 2-the mighty Richard Allinson is there to entertain you.

Well, there's no Wright or Evans this week so that should make Radio 2 a bit more bearable in the afternoons.

Listening to Wogan whilst suffering from the flu comes highly recommended. I did just that about this time last year and found that disorientation in unison is actually quite enjoyable. No idea what was happening - I think it just passes over me when I'm well Wink

Well iwarburton, you have my sympathy.

If really ill then it is in bed and asleep... the only way!

But recuperating from an op when you are likely feeling fine apart from some residual tiredness is the real frustration works. Just take it out on the family and they will appreciate you even more when you are recovered... Very Happy

Thanks for the sympathy. Can't say that I relish the op itself but life should improve a good deal after it.

Ian.
