What a chance to quote one of the funniest lines in TV comedy...

John Humphries asked Ian Lavender to state his name on Celebrity Mastermind the other night.
Rick Wakeman was quick to say " Don't tell him Pike"
Nice one Rick.. Laughing

I like Rick Wakeman, he should be on Radio 2 more often.

To my knowledge, Rick Wakeman has only ever been a guest on someone's show. I've certainly heard him on Janice Long's show and also Mark Radcliffe's previous solo late show, usually he's just there for a chat but he would often tickle the ivories on the studio piano towards the end of Mark's show. I'm not sure if he's been on the joint Radcliffe/Maconie show, He possibly has, but I just can't think of an occasion!

It would be great if he could have his own Rick's place slot on radio 2 but I fear he would be too near the knuckle for any fuddy duddies who happen to be listening in at the time. So I guess he will be staying on Planet rock until the dawn of time. Very Happy

I'm sure I've heard him on Radio 2 fairly recently but yes, as a guest only.
"Ricks Place" would be great for a grown up's Radio 2 but I can't see it happening either... Sad
