This has bothered me all day.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1107705/Just-days-giving-birth-French-justice-minister-work--glamorous-ever.html
The same story was plastered over the front of the Telegraph, but the online version doesn't have a full photograph.
Only in passing is the baby she had five days ago mentioned.
Are we supposed to be impressed with the way she looks and her determination not to let such a trifling event stand in the way of her national duty/job/career?
She's quoted as saying it was "fundamental" for her to have a child, so why is it not also fundamental for a mother to look devote all her time to it, for at least the normal maternity leave period granted in her country?
She doesn't want to be looked upon as a role model for single parents. Why, then, allow yourself to be photographed in such a way as to attract the attention of the world media, not to mention young women?
The only bit I do understand is the press fixation with her "glamour" and the identity of the father. _________________ Ron |
