It's on BBC News:

Women who exercise by doing the housework can reduce their risk of breast cancer, a study suggests. The research on more than 200,000 women from nine European countries found doing household chores was far more cancer protective than playing sport.

Dusting, mopping and vacuuming was also better than having a physical job.

The women in the Cancer Research UK-funded study spent an average of 16 to 17 hours a week cooking, cleaning and doing the washing.

I think I'll take cover now and wait for the backlash.

Clearly a man said this, as I'm sure it was a man who said period pains lessen as you get older. Rolling Eyes

Might explain why our "Little Treasure" is 76 and roars around the house with a vacuum at warp speed.

A friend of the male gender once told me jokingly (I think) that there was nothing to childbirth.

His wife was out of earshot at the time, so he's still living!

Hi Ian, having been present at the birth of our daughter, I can assure anyone that it is a wonderous thing to behold and the terrible pain endured by my wife was just forgotten the second she held our daughter in her arms. I, in my wonder & excitment, managed to pull the drip out of her arm and get blood all over her, the doctor, midwife, nurses and myself. When I proudly took our new daughter, in my arms, with her shawl splattered with blood, to the "viewing widow", my brother-in-law promptly fainted. Embarassed

I do enough work at my job - it's a big Police Station and I'm up and down stairs a lot (sorry no I use the lift!!)

I iron when I need something and hoover once a week - only me and the moggies at home anyway.

It's worse than that Jim, can't tell you what the Doc said to me; but did I care with my beautiful, blonde, blue eyed baby daughter, who even then had that wicked smile that just turns dad to mush, in my arms Rolling Eyes
