"How are you going to manage, financially?" asked a TV news reporter.

"What does financially mean?" replied the new father.

Clueless or what?

Never mind, he can have a chunk of my taxes to support him and his family for the next few decades. It's only money, after all.

I'm not happy about a baby starting life this way but would critics have felt better if the pregnancy had been terminated?

It seems the 15 year old girl may have been cheating on her 13 year old boyfriend with a 16 year old boy. He claims to be the real father and wants the child to undergo a DNA test.

Can Jeremy Kyle do a special?

And in one of today's papers it says...

It has uncovered claims that Chantelle was sleeping with as many as EIGHT teenage boys around the time the baby was conceived on the Old Town estate in Eastbourne, Sussex.

So it could be a case of....

All about trying to get money from a publicity stunt set up by them and the family. I think they should be left to get on with it. It didn't work.

Worrying that the families involved have already spotted an opportunity to make money out of selling their story. I really wish that there was some way of making this kind of profiteering illegal.

I note too that social services are being put in the frame. But don't the parents of these young people have prime responsibility for what's happened?

Ian.

Why should it be illegal to sell your story to the papers? Might as well ban autobiographies as well then.

If people dont want to read it, dont buy the papers. The last thing we need are more laws telling people what they can & can't do.

Agreed the parents take the lion's share of the blame, and also agree that the best way to stop the gutter press is not to buy it.

Why should it be illegal to sell your story to the papers?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is it OK then for people to make big money out of fecklessness?

Yes I would say. But dont pay them welfare benefits if they have earned money from selling their story to The Sun. I'd rather the Sun pays to raise that kid than ordinary taxpayers.

Me too. Put that useless paper to some good use for once. I'm quite happy for readers' money to be used for this purpose - given that they never get any of my money. Great idea. Smile

The point is, all the publicity went to the youngest lad; I wonder if HIS parents pushed the story.
