He likes Football so Russell Brand is joining Talk sport for a one off show.

Russell Brand has confirmed that he’ll be co-presenting a “radio special on football” alongside Oasis front man Noel Gallagher on talkSPORT in the not too distant future.
Yesterday, The Sun newspaper reported that Brand and Gallagher are to present one-off show for the station but also that it could become a regular thing if successful. It’ll be the first time Brand will present a radio show since resigning from BBC Radio 2 in October after making prank calls to Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs. talkSPORT are yet to make any comment on the story, however Brand has confirmed, using Twitter, that he’ll be presenting, alongside Gallagher , in a yet unconfirmed slot on the schedule.
Brand said: “It’s true. Myself, and Britain’s favourite swearer are doing a radio special on football. Let’s hope Noel doesn’t get me into trouble. We’ll turn talkSPORT into the fulcrum of the revolution. If we can just get Wossy to come on as a guest, a new dawn will rise.”
It was revealed that talkSPORT showed an interest in Brand shortly after he resigned from his BBC show. Speaking to The Sun, a source close to the comedian and actor said: “It will be a one-off in the first instance but will become a regular show if it’s a success. Obviously, it will need to fit around Russell’s movie commitments in Hollywood. The fact he comes with Noel Gallagher is the icing on the cake.”
Adding, the source said: “It’s not about the money for Russell. He just loves talking football on the radio, especially with Noel. talkSPORT is a good place for him too. The station will be prepared to work around his schedule and he will be able to take a few risks too.” |
