Really.
I listened every day last week and could not detect any improvement "in her game" whatsoever.
Her delivery/presentation style is utterly terrible-cutting across the records, can't seem to string more than as few sentences together without getting "confused", pretty awful newspaper review.
Any good points-yes one- it's great when 7.30am came around and Johnnie appeared. |

I was surprised by Sarah's err... interesting comment about Enoch Powell this morning II thought it was somewhat near the knuckle myself and did not agree with her statement but would not waste time complaining that's just Sarah I suppose. |

No she was not quoting from the paper.
Amazed that anybody could agree, Powell was a racist no doubt about it. |

Looks like this incident has been added to Sarah's log:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8158074.stm
Truth is though I do not think Sarah is racist, she is just living in the past - and I quite like that about her as much as her comments on Mr. Powell alarm me. |

That's made it clear, then - Radio 2 presenters are not allowed to express political opinions. So she could not have said the same about Iain Macleod or John Smith without being set upon.

Shame the BBC don't concentrate on sorting out their real problems - too many to list here - instead of pandering to a tiny tiny minority of Daily Mail readers. One of the things I like about SK is you never know what will happen next, no doubt BBC bosses would like her to read from their sanitised script. She's already suffered the ignominy of having the newspaper review prep taken out of her hands.
I'm sure everyone will be happy when poor Sarah is replaced by Alan Carr or another totally inappropriate shouting so-called celeb! _________________ MiS |

Technically speaking- the comment she made wasn't political at all. Sarah referred to someone as the best Prime Minister we never had. " Prime Minister" is a Government position. Governments of the UK are apolitical. The comment was Governmental not political, there's a huge difference but very few people know the difference.
It's like "enormity"... you know they've had to change the definition in dictionaries so that the so called clever people that misuse the word don't look stupid. Enormity is nothing to do with size... it's evilness!

She's clearly been given the old PC brain-wash:-
"Freddie" Flintoff as British oak.
The only British Oak you'll find is a pub. The oak is English, just as the pine is Scots (or Norwegian) and rarebit is Welsh.

Yeah Ron, there was a little thing about it in the MoS but it really was no biggy. Some people seem to listen to the Radio just waiting to be offended..... Yes!!! woohooo I've been offended... now I'm important and I have something to do ... . So what if people are offended- the world doesn't stop- nothing changes, life goes on. |

The difference, in this instance, is that the issue of one's being offended or not is secondary to the fact that she is working within a regulated framework. It's no different to the constraint that on polling days broadcasters are restricted by the terms of the Representation of the People Act (Section 9) which states that there must be no political discussion of a nature that might influence voters' selection of candidates. That issue is one with which all presenters and producers/editors are aware - and I'm sure that Ms. K. is equally aware of the restriction placed upon her in the instance referred to in the above posts. It's also why JV has no political discussion at all on polling days, and the only reporting must be based on fact - eg: number of voters attending polling stations, etc. No comment is allowed at all until polling stations close.
So, I think, by implication, it's clear that Ms. K. is quite an admirer of Enoch Powell and all he stood for regardless of the discussion points made above.
That says it all for me, and one of the reasons I will not listen to her.
It's also pretty clear where her political affiliations lie - evident by the way she ran roughshod through certain issues of the day in her rather laughable "newspaper review". _________________ (signature and avatar removed, violated forum Rule 2.) |

At least one more does now. Actually it's something that I would probably have learned at school and forgotten. It's difficult to divorce in the mind the government from the political party to which the MPs who form part of it belong. Gordon Brown was thinking of the apolitical by inviting talent from outside the Labour Party into the government; the media and his own party derided him for it.
I didn't know that. Gosh, I wish I had your brain!
Yes, the music was good (unusually I got a chance to listen this morning), but they try to squeeze one too many in around the 7 o'clock news. Was Julie actually there (suppose she doesn't need to be)? - She didn't mention her - only to Skeleton Staff _________________ Ron |

I don't know if Julie was there this morning, Ron- it was a good selection of tracks this morning though- the very sort that Julie puts together.
Sarah was saying yesterday that she doesn't put the paper review together anymore- she just reads it out. She also said, that she wouldn't be around much longer. I hope she was teasing- cos I'd miss her show.

Nick, my comments are made without prejudice.
....And just in case some on here don’t understand “ without prejudice”
1.an unfavourable opinion or feeling formed beforehand or without knowledge, thought, or reason.
2. any preconceived opinion or feeling, either favourable or unfavourable. |

Another cracker this morning! Sarah on top form, bouncy and cheerful.
Langton Herring in Dorset got a mention this morning ... Knickers for bunting.....
a little fact about Langton Herring- it is the only village in England that has no War Memorial- cos nobody from there has been killed in any wars..... |

I was surprised to hear Srararah say she's here non-stop until December. I would have thought she'd have fitted in at least one break before then _________________ MiS |

Sarah has more illness out of the Radio 2 presenters pool than anybody else.
I think it highly unlikely she will not have some sick days between now and December. |

I can't see she won't take a Holiday before December? 6 Months without a break. No hope she doesn't come down with flu or whatever. Over the last few mornings she's had sneezing fits before going to air. She said 'they must be spraying the studio with something which is bothering her nostril.. |

Poor Sarah this week just gone. A wasp caught her at the weekend and Lynn Parsons took to the mic on Monday, she made a miracle recovery on Tues and Wed. Thursday came and Alex continued on after the dreaded bug caught her. Now Richard Allinson is covering her on Friday. I read somewhere she would promise to make it until Christmas before an illness struck her down again..
Poor Sarah get well soon, and as Alex said she will be back soon. Probably Tuesday after the long bank holiday weekend. |

I don't wish the woman any ill but she does seem to be going through the '101 bizarre excuses to stay off work' book. What next, a rattlesnake bite, a plane crashed into the house, my leg fell off, boyfriend ran off with Judith Chalmers. |

It's a shame there'e not a bit more empathy and consideration towards Sarah. As someone who has endured my fair share of health problems, maybe I'm just a little more understanding. _________________ MiS |

I think more people would empathise were she to be a really good radio presenter. Alas, in my opinion and that of others, she isn't - and that's what makes her regular absences all the more evident. _________________ (signature and avatar removed, violated forum Rule 2.) |

In your opinion, but that is not shared by her millions of listeners. Even if you think she isn't good at her job, why would that preclude you from being sympathetic to someone who has health issues _________________ MiS |

Well as I said I do not wish her ill, I think it would be not so bad if she did not lay it on so thick as it were.
That said I do feel sorry for her, she clearly does have health issues but we don't really need to hear the grim details of them.
I know I take the pee out of her bizarre excuses but I don't mean anything by it, I hope she is ok. |
