Yesterday afternoon- I had a nap (three-hours). The dream somewhere in those three-hours was fantastic. Follows; a “short” version of my dream:-

It started out in the buffet car of an old steam train travelling from Edinburgh to London. With an armful of goodies I made my way along the train, and there in a compartment was Madonna. Great hair colour I said to myself – wonder what shade that is? So I went into the compartment to ask her – it was Golden Blonde, shade 9.3- anyway we chatted – she had a drink of my Pepsi then I headed off down the train to a massive (it was inconceivably enormous) carriage where there was a live gig going on- complete with crowd. Chris Evans and his team were hosting the gig – the drinks and toasted-sarnis I was carrying, were for them. It was all kicking off nicely then Jules Holland came on – he was singing By the Rivers of Babylon by Bony M but in the style of Vincent Price on Michael Jackson’s Thriller- it was weird. I noticed that Jules, wearing a white suit - had his face covered in cling-film – stretched really tightly over his face, with little holes for his eyes, nose and mouth- not sure why. It all came to end at King’s Cross, Chris said, “he’ll regret that when it goes out on air”- then we pulled into the station- we all looked at each other with that look that asks, Pub? Then off we went.

Before you ask. No it wasn't a nightmare Smile - I don't drink, or take any other stimulants at all. I'd had a beefburger though - if that means anything.

Are you sure it was just a beefburger Rachel?! You didn't leave it unattended for too long did you?! Shocked
My weirdest dream featuring a Radio 2 DJ was several years ago now, before Saturday afternoons were reduced to the status of rubbish. In fact Mark Mayhew could have dreampt this, but no, it was me! To set the scene of what must have made me dream this dream, lets go back to the days when Richard Allinson was king of Saturday afternoon Radio 2 and the Saturday that his show came from a shopping centre somewhere in Yorkshire. The show was also webcast (that's something that hasn't happened with any show for some years now) so you could watch Richard present his show along with any live acts that performed there that day on your computer. It was possibly the first time I had done this. Well my dream was that Richard was doing a similar outside broadcast in the town where I live, I remember trying to get him to play Neil Young's 'Rocking In The Free World'. I didn't succeed, but I've since heard it on Radio 2 several times. In fact Alex Lester played it as a 'listener's library' track for me a few years ago. I missed it on the day as I was in France. Thank heavens they had included his show as part of 'listen again'! That request was sent in a more traditional way, by E-mail!

I woke up yesterday morning having dreamed that I'd been invited to a breakfast reception at Buckingham Palace (don't ask me why, I've never done anything to deserve that). I was met at the side entrance by a bloke who looked like David Walliams dressed as Sgt Pepper, who showed me into a lift which moved horizontally as well as up and down. It stopped and let me out at one of HM's art galleries, which was full of Rolf Harris's "can you tell what it is yet?". As I reached a door at the far end of the room I could smell bacon frying; I went through the door and climbed up three flights of steps but just as I reached the top a footman came past and said, "Sorry, breakfast's cancelled - ************* has died (someone in the world of music, still alive) and Her Maj is inconsolable".

I spent most of yesterday in dread of hearing/seeing on the news that ************ had died. Fortunately not, but I'm not saying who it was.

Cool beans! Interesting stuff Ron- you know, you can tell lots about a person from their dreams.

In my dream last night. I was walking alone along a long road in combat gear. I started to run, after a while I thought it would be much faster to run on all fours - so I did. That went on for a while then I turned into a huge back cat - puma - maybe. Then I ran and ran - eventually entered a shopping centre- Watford I think. I entered though on the top floor- still running- I leapt over the barriers and fell past the glass-fronted lift- lots of Radio 2 folk were in the lift- waving. I landed on the floor ran out of the main door into a swamp - lots of reeds and mushy water. In the swamp there there was lots of little wooden walkways- the gaps between the wood became painful for my paws - so I revereted to my human form- then got shot at by a hunter type chap in a rowing-boat. I arrived at my destination - a Lion Farm - huge fences everywhere. I met my hubby there- we were going to look round the place - cos it was for sale. The house was really long. It turned out that the house had been in the venfor's family for hundreds of years. Each new generation had built a new bit of house on the end of the original - then had lived in that part- never going back to the old part- I said well can we go and look. Only if you really want to - the chap selling the place said. So I went through door after door into older and older parts of the house until I came to the original building - a shed with a small stove in one corner. I went though another door in the shed then I was outside - in a Lion enclosure. I turned to go back into the shed but there was no handle on the outside of the door - so I couldn't go back. It was just me and the Lions, and they looked hungry. I ran, being chased by about ten Lions; all the while I was thinking - I'll never make that fence. I leapt - got all caught up in the barbed wire - then hubby turned up laughing and said, they're just sheep.
We didn't buy the place.

I shudder to think. Or was it just a premonition that my PC was about to die? Laughing
