Forgive me if these comments have been posted before, but I got up at a stupidly early hour this morning and listened to him for the first time ever.
He's blindingly good, soothing voice, Newspaper reviews clear.
Not one mention of Cats, Sainsbugs or Holidays in exotic places.
Why can't we have him Weekdays?
Would get my weekday morning off to a reasonable start.

I listened to Mo Dutta properly for the first time months back when driving home from Heathrow at a stupid hour. I, too, thought him very enjoyable to listen to and way superior as a broadcaster to many of those who hog the daytime limelight.

He'd be quite good at drivetime weekdays, actually.

Is this an April Fool? He's terrible, I do NOT want him on weekdays, thank you very much!

In fact, I think he'll be a very good replacement for El Tel when he eventually relinquishes the Breakfast seat.

Mo is one of the best kept secrets on Radio 2- he's fantastic! It trashed Sunday morning's for me when they extended his Saturday Show and chopped his Sunday Show. Put Mo back on Sundays too!

I'm not keen on him at present but suspect that he might grow on me if he were on for five days per week.

I used to like him, and then he became very irritating. Looking back, I think he went through a phase of constantly fading out the music, chunnering about something ridiculous, bringing the sound back up, then fading it down for a continuing comment. It was incredibly irritating.

Having said that, the last couple of times I've heard him I'm not aware that he's doing that so much now. He does, however, seem to spend overly long chatting to that travel guru from the Independent who never seems to be off TV and radio these days.

Simon Calder. Yes, I was listening to him talking about Seville the other week. This lengthy chat was very informative - largely because I'm off to Seville for a few days in May. I always like his take on all things travel - very practical and down to earth.

It's amazing Mo doesn't do cover work for Radio 2? I think it's because In his spare time he runs a number of his own business enterprises including Internet training, software design, broadcast electronics and production.

Chris Hawkins is covering for Mo this coming Saturday!!

It'll be good to see him back on Radio 2. He's a good DJ, I don't know why they stopped using him for cover during the absences (Usually Janice Long, Alex Lester & Mo Dutta) I hope this means we'll now be hearing more of him on R2.
