Boris has hinted that he may only run for one term as Mayor of London. Could this mean he might try to get to the House Of Commons and run for PM, or leader of the Tories? |

Sir Alan would he hired? Doesn't he have a job already? _________________ (signature and avatar removed, violated forum Rule 2.) |

A) BJ has already been an MP
B) He can't "Run for PM", if he became an MP he would have to stand in a leadership contest. Can't see that happening for quite a while! _________________ MiS |

Mark, you're excelling yourself again.
I don't know whether you've sussed it yet but for Boris (a member of the Conservative Party) to "run for PM", as you put it, he's first have to be elected back into the Commons as an MP, and from there he'd have to convince his fellow party members out in the constituencies to elect him as their Leader. That could only be achieved through a By-Election somewhere or in a General Election - and as much as many people would wish the latter to occur the fact is that it won't be happening for a while yet, by all accounts.
In the Conservative party, the Leader becomes Prime Minister if the party gains a majority in a General Election, but not before (obviously).
So, I think you're expecting a lot of good ol' Boris, so in that respect I tend to agree with John's post above! _________________ (signature and avatar removed, violated forum Rule 2.) |
