There was too much about Stella Street on this documentary about pop parodies - Whose Line Is It Anyway was better in that field.
I liked the bits about the Hee Bee Gee Bees and Spinal Tap. The Rutles and Flight Of The Conchords were quite rightly included.
I didn't know Graham Linehan was involved in the U2 parody act The Joshua Trio! _________________ We are loonies and we are proud!

Yeah, I think this could have been longer. I'd have liked more about the HeeBeeGeeBees and it's connections to Radio Active and Spitting Image.
Good to hear "Weird Al" though (he should be played on Radio 2 anyway!) and The Rutles.
Not sure they could cover Whose Line Is It Anyway...? There's not much thought behind the songs and Richard Vranch doesn't really like to talk about it anymore. |

I was thinking more of the American version of Whose Line... that Five USA ran on weekdays, with Drew Carey and Ryan Stiles in the principal cast.
One of the production team is Bruce Baum, and I'm convinced it's the same Bruce 'Babyboy' Baum who parodied 'Bette Davis Eyes' as 'Marty Feldman Eyes'! _________________ We are loonies and we are proud!
