No doubt this programmes' days are numbered. I expect they'll replace it with "Celebrity karaoke" or some such. _________________ MiS |

The Organist Entertains is one of many programmes protected by the BBC Trust. If Radio 2 dropped the programme, it would be contravening the Trust's terms and conditions. |

The demise of jazz on Radio 2 surely goes against the Trust's policies? The same can be said for the demise of British dance band music on Malcolm Laycock's programme. |

Indeed, all sadly missed. Where else can we get them, apart from on record? _________________ MiS |

I think it's a case that Radio 2 management has gone against the BBC Trust's policies - and the Trust has sat back and allowed it to happen.
The demise of British dance band music, jazz and light/popular classics on Radio 2 certifies that management intend to turn Radio 2 into a 24 hour pop station. Shoving the specialist programmes onto late-night (graveyard) slots (when nobody will be listening) is another reason why I believe Radio 2 is being watered down. |
