Was a little surprised by his technical ineptitude with the quiz mind.

Alex would be good in whatever slot he does, and I've really enjoyed this week's cover for Ken.

I also thought PopMaster was lots of fun too... I've not heard any of the usual anally-retentive "Actually, I do a Mobile Disco, Ken" types this week- although, admittedly, I've only heard a couple... but they were a laugh.

And as regards Alex's technical ability with the questions.... Those bonus questions are on mini-disc- it must be a pain in the behind making sure the right question is cued-up, the fader is up whilst asking the other questions and listening to the answers, and also making sure the timer jingle is cued-up and ready to go, as and when required.
Don't forget, Ken's had years of practise at it... the other presenters haven't- I wouldn't fancy having to do it!

"Just trim the ends was it sir? And how about 'something for the weekend?' Laughing

It's a bit hypocritical for a gay person to make comments on the attractiveness of the opposite sex when they are attracted to the same sex.
Enough of this sexuality nonsense.

As for Alex Lester in place of Ken Bruce, I had to switch it off, he was doing my head in. If he wasn't cocking things up on the show he was spouting forth about 'me, me, me'. What a dull and tedious little man! Now I know why he does the graveyard shift, so that only the weirdos and insomniacs can listen to his drivel.

They're not all weirdos :X
But if you're a young woman and you fancy that old geezer, you must have something wrong with you, especially with the younger, fitter talent on the station. Or there's Radio 1, with Chris Moyles.

Yep .. Tim Smith is sitting in for Alex this week on the 3-6 am slot Sad.....not even a proper DJ.Sad ... it's not worth getting up for...really poor this morning. Tim is so worried that the Big show won't miss him while he's away, he does both.... he did the same last time.....it's quite easy not to like him, he's like the long lost third Mitchell Brother........

Well I have to say,

I like his delivery and his voice unlike ---- -----, I'd like to hear him during the day. As long as it's not in place of "The Big Show" with the mega star that is - Steve Wright!
Alex? a thumbs up for me.

still can't see what Rachel see's in him though....

What do I see in him.....??

just Chemistry I guess Santa, .... I think everyone is the same .. aren't they? ... there are some people who for whatever reason (I don't know), make your heart beat just a little faster. I enjoy Alex's humour, his un-affected, down to earth style, his passion for great music and of course his voice, which makes me melt....

I fail to see what all this adulation with AL is about. Did this guy go to that school of "DJ speak" where you are taught to use cliches with alarming frequency, talk through your nose, and bang on about nothing in particular then announce the artist and song title just before the vocal cuts in? Has anybody on here ever met the guy to speak to. I'd love to know if he really talks like that.

The only difference between R2 and my ILR this week from 9:30 to 12 is that there's no commercials on R2.

Poor.

It's good to know that Alex isn't liked by everyone. That would make him bland, inoffensive, background fodder. Alex is different, a little off the wall and pretty special. A one man riot when they let him off the leash.......... Not for everyone, that's what makes him so good....Smile
