... you'd better not go in disguise; at least, not as a dinosaur, or council Health & Safety will tow you away.

At least you could see the thing. What about the jagged rocks and slippery pebbles beneath the water that you can't, the jellyfish and seaweed covered in goodness knows what... and that's before we get to the litter, the bird droppings and the raw sewage that's pumped out a few hundred yards downwind?

Nothing surprises me any more about the lengths H&S people will go to in order to sanitise our society at the expense of all enjoyment. Whatever happened to common sense? Rolling Eyes

I wish I'd popped down there to see that. Weymouth council are not the brightest pennies in the box.

I've just been down to Weymouth to see my mum in law ( and to have a look at the sculpture).... It was bucketing down. So glad I'm not on holiday in Weymouth today. Didn't see the sculpture (the police have impounded it) but we had some lovely cream cakes and tea.

If the sculpture was by Damien Hurst and putting it on the beach had been the Council's idea- then you could rest assured that their trumpeter would have been out of town for months to come.
