A bit late in the day to start sueing! Although it must be Men At Work's main source of income so I bet they're a bit worried now.
From that article:
Quote: | Down Under, a number one in Australia, the US and the UK, tells the story of an Australian backpacker touring the world.
It pays tribute to "a land down under where beer does flow and men chunder".
The song also references popular Australian food spread Vegemite.
"I said 'do you speak my language?', he just smiled and gave me a Vegemite sandwich," it says. |
That's the sort of incisive journalism I pay my licence fee for! |

Richard Allinson uses the instrumental part - with the 'Kookaburra' bit on the flute - on his early morning programme, so I bet they'll get royalties from that.
Colin Hay of the band also appeared in 'Scrubs', singing 'Overkill' (Men at Work's song, not the Motorhead song). _________________ We are loonies and we are proud!
