In one of his daily exchanges with Janice Long this week, Alex mentioned his penchant for anchovies, the more the merrier, especially on pizza.
Anchovy is one of those foods people either love or hate, and, having sensitive taste buds, I fall firmly in the latter camp.
I just wondered what other people felt about them, and what other foods can you not bear to eat, or even smell.
In addition to anchovies, and other strong (and bony) fish, like sardines and rollmop herring, I cannot stand...
Tripe
Marmite
Coleslaw (not the stuff they sell in the shops, anyway)
Kidney (not a great fan of liver, either - had too much as a child)
Broad Beans
Onions (the texture makes me heave; I happily add them to stew/casserole dishes, where they go down to nothing)
Spinach
Strong spices - curries and chilis (I make a brilliant chili con carne, but without the chili) _________________ Ron |

Blimey! There's a surprise, Alex talking about Pizza... Almost everything Alex eats starts with a P ... Pies, Pasties, Pizza, Pints and Packets of Chips ......the boy needs some help with his diet.....If only I could get my hands on him for a week or two.....
Anything spicy does me in, Ron... I like Marmite though but only on toast.
anchovies, are they those little green things on Pizza, you have to spit out before your mouth explodes? |

They might be olives, Rach - I forgot to include those on my list as well, they are disgusting. _________________ Ron |

Totally agree about Anchovies - they are disgusting! I always have them taken out of restaurant meals. _________________ MiS |

Olives. Mmmm. A little restaurant I know up in the hills of the Sierra Nevada in Andalucia serves green and black olives, crusty local bread and extra virgin olive oil as an appetizer with drinks before a meal. You just can't beat 'em. Luvvly jubbly, Rodders. I was sat there enjoying this very assortment exactly a month ago this very evening! _________________ (signature and avatar removed, violated forum Rule 2.) |
