It's lovely and sunny here today. I thought for all you rain soaked folk on the east side I'd find a local web-cam to keep you warm. The closest one I can find is Weymouth seafront ( about 6 miles away)

Very nice, Rach.

I like the harbour and town bridge views. The beach looks quite busy, and don't people move a lot in the space of one second? Can't sit still for a minute! Laughing

Here's a view of Nottingham beach by contast

Compared to most days it's quite quiet - you usually can't see the sand for the crush of people.

It's quite warm and sunny here this morning, but still wet underfoot - I squelched across the lawn to hang some washing out earlier.

Please can you send some of that sun my way Rachel. I haven't seen any all morning yet. Lasham airfield is about the nearest webcam to me http://www.lashamweather.co.uk/index.php

A beach in town... cool beans!

Ron, if you watch the esplanade cam for long enough you'll see lots of overweight Brummies wearing no shirts.... Most of the shhops in Weymouth have a sign in the door " Shirts must be worn in this shop".

I've orgainised for the sun to come your way Lee...... ....Smile

Weymouth beach is deserted this morning, I see. There are four hardy souls on ours - it's tipping down with rain.

It's a bit early yet, Ron ... all the B& Bs kick people out at 10am - it'll start filling up in half an hour or so.... Smile ( Unless it rains in which case there'll be a long queue at the Sealife Centre)....Smile

I love the tracks they make.

It has stopped raining. We might get out this evening to see what the local fields look like - last weekend they had not even started on the rape, so things are quite behind schedule.

This was three weeks ago -

(that's the footpath trailing across the middle of the field! And again, with barley...)

Yeah it is a jolly busy day in Weymouth today, Ron,... and a massive firework display this evening- followed by chips and a walk along the seafront. Maybe they expect a high demand on the web-cams today, so have turned them off, to make sure everyone goes to the seafront to watch it live Smile

I'll be envious of your chips along the seafront and firework display tonight, but it looks a bit hot and bothered down there at the moment - not a spare patch of sand to be seen!

It's roasty toasty here today, Ron. Hotter than hell. Were going out walkies in a mo but not before slapping on a good layer of sunscreen.

I'll have some chips for you this evening, Ron Smile and maybe a can of Pepsi too.... Smile

Lovely! Very Happy

Very warm now, cloudless sky. I've been out to Argos to buy a set of cordless phones for mum-in-law, so she can be close to one in every room. Shops are deserted - staff outnumbered customers by about three-to-one in House of Fraser - but loads of people milling around and all the fast-food and burger places were packed. All that government advice about healthy eating - they're wasting their breath!
