| Come to think of it, i was on my way to a meeting about 9.15 & heard a bit more of JW's breakfast & he played the song rex bob.. was that when he spoke about Roger? |

Yes - he was referring to the song that's almost impossible to get hold of, but whose story has parallels with Roger Scott.
One of the reasons I so much prefer R2 Breakfast when JW is doing it; all we'd get from Wogan is yet more silly limericks from his pseudonymed regulars.

| I hope to god that Johnnie is still able to cover breakfast and as frequently when Evans takes over. Of course I would love to see JW return to drivetime, just hope that dull as dishwater Mayo doesnt get the job. |

Don't act stupid. You know what I mean. I can't see Walker will continue as cover. Some people are not looking striaght. The station will see a lot of changes in the schedules, which include the cover presenters too. This is being introduced at the present time. |

He's right, Mark. I've noticed it as well: Zoe and Emma are indeed female whereas Johnnie is indeed male. Why should they be stupid for being what they are?

To say it is currently the most listened to station in the UK and then chopping and changing and possibly giving its current listener base the heave ho is indeed a very bold move. I dont want to listen to a Radio 2 with a Radio 1 vein running through the middle of it. |

Quite right. The funny thing is that Radio 1 has itself moved on. What we're having to put up with is R1's rejects!

Jimmie Young and Terry Wogan were in the starting line up of DJs for Radio 1 (and in the famous Langham Place photo). Johnnie Walker did the lunchtime programme there, Steve Wright did breakfast and was most famous for his afternoon show on Radio 1. Chris Evans did the breakfast show on Radio 1 (when he could be bothered to turn up for work), as did Zoe Ball. Bob Harris did several stints of late-night radio on Radio 1. Janice Long also did late night work on Radio 1 for five years in the 1980s until she was fired for (let it be said in hushed voices) fell pregnant without having the decency to get married first.
And I haven't even mentioned David Hamilton, and certainly won't again.
Mark Radcliffe. Stuart Maconie. Trevor Nelson. Steve Lamacq. Mark Lamarr. Brian Matthew (remember "My Top 12"?). All voices that presented on Radio 1.
There's nothing wrong with ex-Radio 1 presenters (or even current Radio 1 presenters) appearing on Radio 2.
