Hi Folks,
I checked the playlist duplication this week and it is down to just over 15% in common with Radio 1.
Maybe Bob Shennan is starting to get the message. Still, the awful Pixie Lott and I see the Mika album is on there now - but the nice Lisa Hannigan track is new.
Who knows we may get a jazz band or dance band track if things continue in this direction
Cheers
John

Welcome John P.

Good to see you here. Keep up 'the campaign' at R2mb and at Digital Spy! There's plenty of support.

Welcome Johnp.

The PTB still don't get how banal the playlist is - tracks you start off liking become boring beyond words after being repeated ad nauseum.
Mind you I'll make an exception in the case of Mika - I hated it straightaway Laughing

"we are not what you think we are

We are golden we are gooolden!"

That would explain the high voice, then?

This week it is down to just two tracks (next week there are four).

The message may be more of Radio 1's, where there is [also] a move to appeal to a younger audience

They haven't quite done it yet, but the day when the Sugababes, Beyoncé and Kasabian (and definitely Mika and Pixie Lott) are considered to sound too "old" for them cannot be far away.
