So, GMTV played a bit of the posthumous release. I could tell it was substandard product with a little help from his brothers dubbed on after the event.

I'm glad Phil Wilding (of Classic Rock and Phill Jupitus's old 6 Music show) had the nerve to say onscreen that it was pants even though the fan sitting next to him was toeing the party line.

Sony are taking the Michael with this. They are also the label who turned down the second Wishing Tree album because they didn't want to make it more like Portishead or Alanis Morrisette. Evil or Very Mad

I do think Michael Jackson is slightly over rated, though he did make some very good pop recors.
I do think tho that Michael Jackson improved with age. He appeared rather obnoxious as part of the Jackson 5 doing ABC. I liked him more as he grew older

Interesting to see that there's already a bit of a fuss about ownership! Seems Jacko wrote this with Paul Anka in 1982, then "stole the tapes" and yesterday's release didn't bother crediting Anka (who, despite his reputation, seems remarkably laidback about it all).

I've not heard the song, so can't comment. But the very fact I haven't heard it yet would suggest it's not setting the world alight.

Should have known Steve Wright would play it! If there's a passing bandwagon, he'll hitch a lift.

Anyway... didn't think it was too bad. In fact, it's probably one of his best songs for decades. I'm sure a bit more work could have polished it up rather nicely.

It is nothing special but it's quite nice to listen to. I don't think it will set the world on fire though.
