Singer, actor, broadcaster, writer and general 'good egg' Ian Wallace has died at the age of 90.
He'll be best remembered as a genial presence on My Music.
He did present some light classical music shows on R2 in its early days and once played me a request on a show called Command Performance.
My sympathy to his family.
Ian. |

I remember him well. My Music has lost all it's participants except Denis Norden now as Steve Race and John Amis also passed away recently. _________________ MiS |

Thanks for this. Are you sure about John Amis, as Wikipedia says he's still going, at 87?

You've made me doubt myself Ian! I was sure I'd read that John had passed on, maybe I am confusing him with someone else. I do apologise. _________________ MiS |

Sad to hear about Ian Wallace, he was a favoirite of my dad's on TV and as a youngster seeing him with Steve Race et al got me interested in the lighter side of music.
I have an LP of his, I think it's a Christmas album |

It will be better than Bob Dylan's Christmas album, no doubt! I speak as someone who has most of Dylan's work, but I won't be buying this one! |
