Pizza Express has introduced a healthier, lighter (in calorie terms) pizza, containing half the normal amount of dough, so that it's now like a giant Polo, with a hole in the middle, disguised by a few salad leaves.

Only snag is, it costs more than the standard pizza

Now, while I'm firmly in the Alex Lester school of thought when it comes to pizzas (they taste like something you've peeled off the wall of your garden shed) this does seem a little unfair. It's the same with most "Lite" and "WeightWatchers" products, organic ones too - you pay more for less

(Sales of organic food products have been much reduced this year, as shoppers tighten recessionary belts, to the extent that Tesco and Asda have withdrawn 30% of their range)

Ron, they have to pay people to cut out the middle bit, which they then use to make those mini-pizzas ... Smile It's really hard to cut in circles. That's why they cost more. Smile

It doesn't cost much more, comes with different toppings and a nice salad, and doesn't leave you feeling as though you've swallowed an elephant. What's not to like?

pizza, that's what. Sad

I loathe it, and the prospect of actually "going out" to eat that stuff......
Comes under the heading of "ain't worth the calorie input" for me.
