National Express Eastcoast Mainline has now been taken back into public ownership. Lets hope Browns trains run a better service.

East Coast Main Line is fine. Absolutely no need to spend money on renaming, rebranding, new decals or whatever. Just ensure the trains run, and on time, and the stations are safe and clean.

I see they're already talking about increasing off-peak fares

They have also scrapped plans to install barriers at York station. They also want to sort out the buffet service.

Seems the East Coast website isn't working at present.

National ( Distress ) Express are millions in debt. Bus/Coach companies should stick to what they know best.

Rarely travel on a train, only if we're going a distance to have a good drink Smile

The last time we nearly got a train was for a day out meeting friends in Oxford. The week before, we went into Coventry Station to book a couple of off-peak day returns.

We were standing at the counter, the man at the computer took an age, like over a minute, to tell us the fare. Both our voices echoed loudly round the ticket hall as we looked at each other and exclaimed 50 QUID!!!!!!!!!

Then I said, sorry mate we can drive there and back for 10 QUID. Which we did, and Mrs W didn't drink in Oxford, she's a darling sometimes.
