Ken Bruce lives just down the road from me and I've bumped into him a number of times over the last few years.

As some of you may have heard, Ken was switching on the Christmas lights in Thame, Oxfordshire last Friday.
The local free glossy mag "Thame Out" had an interview with Ken this month. Various sujects were covered - his history in Broadcasting, his drinking days, his book etc but he part that really caught my eye was the part that said "Ken is currently negotiating a contract that should keep him at Radio 2 until 2012 at the earliest".

That to me, and others I'm sure, is excellent news and should mean that any threads on here in the next two years about him being axed can be dismissed as rubbish!

Indeed. It'll finish just in time for Ken to compete in the Triathlon...

Ken is one of the essential morning lineup's to keep Radio 2 in the limelight. Please people stop sacking the poor man.

While I like Ken as a presenter, the music on his show is some of the most repetitive during the daytime.
Look at today, Take That (again), Kylie Minogue (again), Pet Shop Boys (again), Robbie Williams (again), Pixie Lott (again).
The same with Nina Simone, she must've released loads of records but what do we get:- Ain't Got No (yet again), and why is that? it's because it has a remix by Groovefinder which makes it cool.
Exactly the same with Elvis and "A little Less Understanding" the only one played because it has a "cool" remix.
Ken presented the Beatles special which must've been 2 months ago now (I'm probably wrong there) but I don't think I've heard a single Beatles track on his show since.
I know Ken does play some good tracks now and then but they are often overshadowed by the same blandoh stuff being repeated all of the time.
I also know people have said that Gary Bones is to blame, maybe so but I think Ken should take some of the flak too.
