Congratulations to Stuart Maconie who won with a magnificent 33 points tonight. Particularly so since he had chosen a very wide ranging specialist subject (20th century poets and poetry) compared to his competitors rather narrower Nirvana and Star Wars. Whilst coming second in the specialist round, he literally ran away with the general knowledge round. The boy dun good! Very Happy

Congratulations indeed to Stuart Maconie on winning. Not sure if these are repeats or not. If so Maybe they'll show the one Bob Harris took part in.
Radio 2 seem to be doing well in TV quiz shows, Recently we saw Janice Long win the DJ edition of Weakest Link. Also in that line-up was R2's Suzi Quatro and former R2 jocks Pete Murray & David Hamilton.

I'm pretty sure the current Celebrity Mastermind series is a new one. Yes, indeed, well done to Stuart Maconie.

Ian.

These are new ones.

I remember last year's, where Rick Wakeman and Ian Lavender competed. When John Humphreys asked Lavender to give his name, Wakeman shouted out 'Don't tell him, Pike'! in reference to the Dad's Army episode with the U-Boat captain.

I have also been known to snicker when my boss says '(So-and-so)'s name will go on the list...' sometimes.
