Hi Mike,

yes I do have blue eyes Smile I was "Blue Angel" on the R2 MB- the one with the odd sense of humour... Wink

Yes I've missed my recordings of Alex; at work for the last two weeks, I've rediscovered "other people" in the office... Very Happy Some of them even talk to me... well, now and again....

I usually catch the last half-hour of Alex's show in a morning before I leave for work. He certainly has a fairly unique way of looking at life although I can see how that won't sit well with a lot of people used to more 'in your face' or 'lowest common denominator' humour.

His music selections are somewhat eclectic - "Lester's Library" at 0550 (and no doubt in the two prior slots) often features reggae and other stuff you'd never hear anywhere else or heard before. Some good, some not-so-good and some just plain weird.

One of these days when I've got some spare time, I'll 'Listen Again' to the whole of one of his shows and see what happens pre-0530! Smile

Hi Cherskiy

to me ,Alex plays the best music on R2. Some of the Lester's Library Tracks are a bit old and dusty, often I've never heard the track or heard of the band/group/artist performing before. There is Listener's Library too but Alex still hasn't played Hypo full of Love by the Alabama 3 for me yet Crying or Very sad , although I've had Spirit Of Radio by Rush and When You're in Love by the Proclaimers Very Happy played as my selections in recent years.

Before the 5am anti-watershed, the show is a little more pointed and full of fun , the last hour is like a broadcasting warm-down at the gym......calm, cosy and not so much heavy breathing Smile

Hello Rachel - your comments are exactly the same as the ones I'd lay at Bob Harris's door - bands/tracks I've never heard of/performing before, some old stuff, some great stuff. Seems Alex's early show should be on my 'should listen to' list each week....

Right, you've sold me on the first two hours, then... Exclamation Cheers!

Thank goodness Alex is back next week,I've caught Pete Mitchell this week ,what a bore he is!! His idea of a show is..Here's a topic, text in and I'll read out your list and agree with whoever you nominate. It's been low quality hospital radio by numbers stuff..absolutely abysmal. Welcome back the Lex Meister.

Careful, Natasha - he's addictive and you say you haven't got much spare "Listen Again" time each week! Smile
