As you will all be aware its 100 years since BP held his first Scout camp at Brownsea Island. To celebrate the centenary of the largest youth movement in the world, has anbody got any funny/interesting stories of their Scouting experience. I'll start it off:-
Whilst being a Cub leader at Dharan, we were, the Scout Group, helping the "Buffs" with their annual charity bash. To raise money, one of our Cub leaders, named Beaver, had agreed to have his beard & moustache shaved off on stage. Just before the evening kicked off, one of our Cubs came running up to Akela, a lovely lady, shouting" Akela, Akela, they are going to shave your Beaver on stage tonight". How us leaders kept straight faces, at the time is still beyond me!
