One of the most senior Liberal democrats ion the government David Laws has admitted bending the rules to claim £40,000 to give to his partner as "rent".
Mr. Laws has admitted he acted wrongly and has agreed to pay back the money, as he is required to by law.
The scandal is particuarly damaging because Mr. Laws will be responsible for plementing many of the savage cuts this government has promised.
Both Mr Laws and his partner have considerable personal wealth & earn decent salaries.
Yet he wanted more & he falsely claimed a whopping £40,000 falsely for "rent". If any of us had ripped our firms of £40,000 we'd have been sacked very quickly
MR> LAWS MUST GO. HE IS A DISGRACE

The odd thing is on "TODAY" a Lib dem colleague of Mr. Laws was saying that mr Laws had done nothing wrong 7 was claiming far less than he was "entitled to"
WRONG. Mr Laws was NOT entitled to claim ANYTHING for his partners house. In fact, that is why he has to pay the money back

And, to think, this fella is now effectively the Chancellor of the Exchequer's "right hand man" in the ConLib Coalition. Gawd help us all.

If Cameron wants to be seen to be a new broom, he should remove the guy from his post.

I agree. If this guy had been a senior figure in the previous govt & Cameron were still in opposition he'd have been howling for a resignation
