Hi Rachel
Yes red is in fashion again, lots of coats, sweaters around, but by the end of January you've had enough of it compared with other colours haven't you.
I love mince pies especially when they are made with rose pastry, it has icing sugar in it, and a tiny bit of whipped cream is all I like on them. Don't care for other types.

In the days when I wasn't forever counting calories, I used to pop a small piece of stilton or mature cheddar under the lid of mince pies before heating them through. Then I found out there were about 350 calories in a mince pie.... and that's before you add cheese or cream. So.... I'll stick with the celery stick... _________________ Minx

I've eaten all the mince pies. I started halfway through October!
Talking of calories, hot mince pies stuffed with proper Cornish or Devon clotted cream is my way of eating festively! Not forgetting the Brandy, of course.
Calories? What calories? |

Ice cream AND clotted cream on hot mince pies. Now you're talking!!!
And a large brandy, please.
Not just at Christmas, either. |
