And now matters are worse... this week's car was a Ferrari, although to be fair, Porsche 911 got a small mention but only for those people who don't like change, well that wouldn't be me now would it?! |

I should update this with a, Chris has taken my advice (no payment or thanks necessary) and really got his act together with the car reviews in the Event mag, the last several have been quite good, and the last one has me tempted, there's nothing like a ridiculously over powered tiny Ford to get me excited. |

This morning in the space of 20 minutes Chris gave us Rae Morris, Fine Young Cannibals, Glen Millers' In The Mood, an excellent review of the papers and Keith Harris singing Orville's Song. Eclectic, fun, varied - THIS is what Radio 2 should be all the time. |

Too much to hope for .
Maybe he'll take a few more holidays, although I'm not that keen on most of those who sit in. I guess Radio 2 breakfast will continue to be a thing of the past in our house.

As long as we get more Sara Cox at breakfast I'm quite happy as I never watch Top Gear anyway as the whole thing has just got far too silly in recent years _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

I don't watch it these days either Ruddles. Not that fond of Sara Cox though, I think I've just dropped out of Radio 2 Breakfast totally!

He's leaving the One Show.
Interesting Breakfast show yesterday. I'm glad he explained all in the end because I was getting quite frustrated with him for the first 90 minutes |

Well that's a start in the right direction not that I watch the show very much but it's definite 'no, no' on a Friday!

I turned on my car radio this morning still tuned to Radio 2 from yesterday - initially panicked - but then what a pleasant surprise - Mr Mark Goodier running the show with his quiet polite manner and his considerable knowledge of the music being played - a major difference as compared to the regular presenter
It really did lift the whole day for me - and I bet most of you missed it _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

No Helen - sadly only today - apparently Mr Evans could not face up to doing the show after the events in Cheshire yesterday - not that I don't have sympathy for the deceased and his family - but really he needs to be a lot less temperamental over such issues- or there again perhaps he should be a lot more temperamental if it gets him off the radio for a few weeks _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles?

I did wonder if that was the reason.

Oh come on! Anyone who saw Chris Evans on TV over the weekend could see how upset he was at the events of CarFest. Can't believe someone's having a go at him for taking the day off. |

I know - Ruddlescat was, though. Just stopping short of saying if a few more people die at least we'll be spared Chris Evans on the radio - which is very distasteful. |

I was actually very close to where you are Ian when I saw it on the news just after it happened.

Visibly so.
I'm not surprised,at all, that he didn't feel able to do his Monday programme. |

Oh for God's sake Ian get a life - Mr Evans is paid many millions a year by the BBC via us the licence payers - are you really trying to tell me that he felt so upset that he couldn't be bothered turning up for work the following day
The incident was very sad especially for members of the dead pilot's family but life goes on and if CE had any sense of professional responsibility he would have turned up for work on Monday and perhaps dedicated the show to the dead pilot and /or his family - but there again he's such an egotist that he thinks he can do whatever he likes and get away with it which sadly the BBC seems to condone
Mind you I'm not complaining - just responding to what I think was a very unfair post _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |
