Has anyone heard the stations latest mix trailer from different shows? With the latest strapline "BBC Radio 2 More To It"

I've heard it twice in the last couple of hours and already it's annoying the hell out of me - partly because it imposes Evans' voice on me. |

It's also the second time I've heard it. Just couldn't remember the latest strapline. I remember one of them used to be " It's All For You". |

The most appropriate strapline is actually in my sig (see below). |

The one I remember best is 'Different every time'. At least there was some truth in their strap line in those days. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

And prior to that... "Where difference works".
Wogan's listeners would happily mock every attempt at a strap-line.
"More to it..." has a ring of a suspicion about it as in, "eee, there's more to it than meets the eye" - a comment on Sarah Kennedy's departure perhaps? Or on Chris's take-over of the airwaves... |

Too often, and it really anoys me - especially since it opens with Evans. What's worse is the constant (and I mean constant) play-out of the radio trails on R2.
It's now beyond a joke, and I'm getting to the point where I just can't be bothered to switch to R2 at all.
Thank heavens for Planet Rock. It's a much, much better station than Radio 2. |

Personally I've been tuned to Radio 1 this week listening to Moyles. I tuned to Smooth this morning, as I like Tony Blackburn and shame he's leaving, but will continue when Graham Dene returns. |

I also dip into Moyles' programme now and then (anything's better than Radio 2's breakfast-time offering, let's be honest) but I just wish that he and his studio gang would waffle less and play some decent music now and then. He can go for 30 mins without playing any music, and I don't think that's good enough. |

This is why I couldn't really see Capital letting him do this. He's got a good gig at Radio 1. |

I think all this Capital rumour is just PR puff (like his so-called salary rant was - all a set-up to get press attention at a time when Evans was getting a disproportionate amount).
He'd be mad to move to a station that's (a) crap and (b) gaining national coverage on DAB only.
If he moved to Capital his career would bomb and we'd soon see him doing soap commercials on telly. |

Just been unlucky enough to catch the TV trailer, is there really is no escape from the guy?
There were also two trailers on the Ken Bruce show this morning, just wondering - are there subliminal messages in them? If so at what point will I start tuning in at 6.30, and at what point will his listenership hit 40,000,000? and at what point does he reach world domination? |

I thought it was interesting that the Radcliffe and Maconie show is not featured on either the TV or Radio trailers. I realise they cannot feature every show but it seems to me revealing that R&M are not considered core to R2 when it chooses to promote itself.
Amazingly last night's R&M show featured a trailer for Gideon Coes 6 Music show. Whats so amazing? Well hearing 6 music shows trailed on other BBC networks is an extremely rare occurance as far as I am aware, I have never heard Gid's show advertised on R2 before. Also they were effectively advertsing a show that broadcasts at the same time as R&M, an odd bit of cross promotion.
I absolutely love Gideon Coe's show and R&M and mostly listen to them the day following broadcast. I do think that R&Ms ommission from the latest ads plus them having to carry an ad for a directly competing show are the latest examples of the staggering disrespect shown to them by the BBC since their show was cut to 3 days per week. |

They have trailered 6 music shows on radio 2 before. I remember the last time was for a controversial presenter, now no longer with them. George Lamb, who's show trailers were all over both Radio 2 & 6 music in the same annoying way that Evans is now.
Anyone remember shortly after 6 music was launched, Radio 2 devoted a whole saturday evening to ½ hour samples of the 6 music shows of that time, right up to Bob Harris (who was on both stations at the time) who did two hours that evening instead of the usual three and turned it into a '6 music mix'. This might be the playlist from that show as it seems shorter than those for his usual three hour show: http://www.bobharris.info/pages/playlist.asp?progcode=s14122002 _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Trailers promoting the breakfast shows haven't just started happening since Chris Evans took over.
There used to be stacks of trailers for Wogans show for years and not many in comparison for the other daytime shows. |

Perhaps, but the Evans trailers are so much more annoying. |
