Rather than open a new thread (though I'm sure someone will), I've tagged this on here.

It could reflect on who covered too. Although I wouldn't expect Richard Madeley would have caused too much upset. Listeners tune in and out all the time, but I think the show is still healthy.

Not surprised, and long may his decline continue, at this rate he'll be on from 6am to 5.30pm just to keep his figures up.

Reading between the lines it appears that Evans has attracted some of Moyle's listeners, but has shed more of the 'traditional' R2 breakfast listeners.

A monkey would be unlucky not to get 7 million listeners in the R2 breakfast slot, especially by extending the shows hours.

Different is good: if Chris does sometimes shout a little (and he does now and again), it’s only because he’s excited about having the best broadcasting job on the planet

I just don't agree, Rachel. He's not excited about is job so much as being overly excitable. I find it really, really annoying - and that's why I simply don't listen.

Anyway he’s been jolly quiet – almost subdued before 08:00 last week and again today.

"Subdued" is not the word I'd use to describe what I've heard in the last week in the short period between the handover to him from the 6.30 news and my managing to hit the "off" switch.

I'm sure there are people that find your posts equally irritating but it doesn't stop you spouting off all the time, change the record!

You are doing the same thing as your previous incarnation 'Colby' you do manage to turn most of your posts towards one certain presenter, there is a whiff of the 'Nelson touch' about your stance on Chris Evans. Very Happy

I'm heartened by the fact that I am not alone.

As you know Colin you're certainly not alone
In fact quite the opposite I would venture to suggest without wishing to stir up another Hornets nest Sad

I'm sorry but I find that a little rich coming from a member who has managed to post just 60 times in four years Sheltster! If we changed the record to your posts it would be an awfully quiet Forum... Rolling Eyes

Have the studio changed the dynamic compression they apply to any radio voice - making it diminish the loud parts of Chris voice. It does seem to be sounding different.

I thought Steve Wright sounded a little different this week as well.
