We watched that Hugh Fearnley-posh-bloke last night making all types of bread: soda bread, sour-bread, Irish bread etc. This looks easy, I thought, I’ll give that a try tomorrow. Yay! Followed the recipe exactly. I’ve just removed from the oven a steaming meteorite – so dense it has its own gravity field! NASA must be tracking it by now. Help! It’s in my kitchen! No doubt, exactly the sort of thing, which inspired Barnes Wallis. It’s as hard as a Japanese maths exam – the bread knife just bounced off! Try again I suppose, if at first you don’t succeed, bake and bake again! Hugh would like that. I can make breadcrumbs with the failure.

Have you tried a sledge-hammer & cold chisel? Failing that, next time they're digging up the road near you, see if you can borrow their pneumatic drill!!

My wife saw last night's programme by Hugh Double-Barreled Poshbloke and - guess what? - she's just picked up all the ingredients for soda bread whilst we were in Sainsbury's earlier.

She used to make soda bread years ago and jolly good soda bread it was too!

You're jealous. I can tell that you're jealous...... Razz
