Can anyone tell me why Richard Madeley talks so fast. This morning (8 Nov') it was as if he was running to catch a train....Confused Lots of presenters are talking fast these days.....is this the new format?

He was a bit of a disappointment today as he didn't seem prepared so he just relied on the " I'll think of topics, X-factor, Xmas presents etc the you text in I'll just read it out" format, which was just dull. Rolling Eyes

Last time he was on he was a lot better and had more worth listening to.

Yeah, it was a poor show this morning: what’s the worst Christmas present you’ve ever been given? It’s not even Christmas- what are the other shows gonna do on Christmas week now? Come on Richard, that’s just lazy and slack, and the X Factor and Strictly – oh do be brief. The Breakfast Show isn’t meant to be an intellectual challenge but even the weather is more text worthy than those two mind-numbing moving wallpapers. How about Christmas Cake Recipes – what’s the secret ingredient in yours? Buy or bake, that’s the big question. Do you ice and slice yours or just eat it naked? What about Christmas Cards- isn’t it time we put those on the back burner and just talked to people instead? Merry Christmas! Anyone got any Conkers left? Send them in! It’s Chutney season folks – get those green tomatoes chopped up- beware the Christmas Fete- Green Tomato Chutney, a pound a jar! Come and get it folks! Anyone had a leaflet from one of those Lawn Management Companies? How the heck did we survive without those? Do you have a lawn manager? Do you have a lawn? How cool would it be to have a lawn manager but no lawn? Would you take him for a drink? Very on trend! Oh well, you know all our neighbours have a lawn manager, so we thought, well, you know how it is, we should have one too, just in case the odd blade of grass sprouts through the paved driveway…..

Where was I… ah yes, the Breakfast Show- come on Richard- you can do better than X factor.

When he was on TV he always jabbered on without thinking.

Blimmin Aled Jones was gabbling on at a million miles an hour this morning. Take a breath and slow down!

The guy is a classic jabberer (probably in an attempt to hide the nonsense that his brain comes up with).
