Any one watch the 'Never mind the Buzzcocks'last night? Terry Wogan was hosting for the first time. Any way....... about 20 mins in he made a comment about CE being like tinnitus in the ear. What a cheer he got. It may well have been a joke but Tel has always had a way of placing the truth with a joke...............great stuff

"Sounds like an annoying, monotonous buzzing.. if you want to know what that sounds like - tune in to Chris Evans in the morning!"
Nice one Terry.. and thanks for posting the link Hedgy.. that's cheered me up! _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Wogan for once was right
As far as I know once you've got tinnitus you can't avoid it and these days
there's certainly no way of avoiding the ginger one
I don't think there's any cure for either even by wearing earplugs _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Noel Fielding says Terry's the best host the show's had. |

He would.. I think he's about the worst team leader they've ever had.
Besides, Mark Lamarr was the best by a loooooong chalk.. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Although I still smile at his actions, I can't help but think he's been on the show a little too long now... _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Putting the comment aside for a moment which indecently I did find amusing, I thought Terry was brilliant at hosting Buzzcocks and it occurred to me that he'd be very good at Have I got news for you. |

Isn't it ironic, considering that this time last year Wogan was re-assuring us that "the Radio 2 breakfast show will be in good hands from 2010 onwards".
Yes, Terry. We now know what you were really thinking. Another script by the BBC Press Office designed to bolster the success of Evans on R2. |

Just watched the clip (15'48' in). Thanks for that Blondehedgy. What a laugh. I've never seen the programme before as I've always assumed I wouldn't know much of what they played but would in future if Tel was a regular. |

Sounds like TW style, he used to tell us on POV how the BBC was always right, and I got the impression he didnt like people complaining. |

Maybe he being sarcastic what others have been saying. I wouldn't read too much into it. |

When he makes a passing comment which likens Evans' style to tinnitus, he's making a not-so-subtle point! |

Yeah, but he didn't write it! He's just reading what he's been told too. People are reading too much into things. |

But Wogan's sycophantic audience will laugh at anything he says. |

But they would have been a BuzzCocks audience not a Wogans audience wouldn't they? _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

It was clearly a joke, a funny one but a joke nonetheless. |

Santa: sorry, you're right, it was a Buzzcocks audience, who I admit are probably not as sycophantic as Wogan's awful Sunday audience. |
