This is a bit of a long shot. Are they road signs, Hospital, Ford, School, Stop, Hill?

Absolutely spot on Graham - very well done

I accidentally gave away a big clue when I mentioned about 'pointing you in the right direction' Laughing

There are plenty of tracks to choose for the fourth link so feel free to guess away Smile

No Schiz - good guesses but not correct

By way of a clue I can tell you the sign I am looking for has a blue background and the track was a top ten hit in the late 70's Smile

Sorry Schiz unfortunately not Sad

The track concerned reached number 9 in the charts in the late 70's and was the follow up to an even bigger hit a few weeks earlier for an artist or band based outside the UK

Confused

No sorry Angel - because this has been dragging on so long I'll give everyone a clue which might give it away

I mentioned that this was the follow up single which reached number 9 in the charts after an even bigger hit

The title of that first more successful track bemoaned the existence of a certain type of meterological condition

And just to help you further for the road sign in question I could have posted a certain 60's track by Cliff Bennett and the Rebel Rousers

If nobody gets it now I just give up Laughing

Right sign Angel and right weather condition but wrong track - think 1978 and why I used the word 'bemoan' Smile

Ruddles, it must be One Way Ticket by Eruption, a great song by the way, and follow up to I Can't Stand The Rain.

You're right of course, Ruddles. I thought the Diamonds would give it away.

The other song is a rather obscure one from a very well known band and a Bond film with a lesser known actor as 007.

The only Bond film which remotely fits that description I think is 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'

As most of you know on here my knowledge of films is virtually non existent but I like to think I do know quite a bit about music and I seem to recall a version of the theme music from that film done in the 90's by The Propellerheads

Am I anywhere near close or is it a more famous band Smile

You're right with the film, Ruds, George Lazenby was 007.

No, the band was considerably more famous!

I'm amazed I even got the right film to be honest Schiz

I have a vague recollection that it might have featured the song 'We Have All the Time in the World' by Louis Armstrong but apart from that I haven't got a clue - did a famous band of the day do a cover version?

Unless of course you are talking about a track not in the film referring to one of the words in the title such as 'Do You Want to Know a Secret' or 'Secret Garden' and the like

I'm afraid I'll have to give up on this one - does anyone else such as Angel or Graham have any idea?

No, the song is not from the film. As usual, the song title has a word which is also included in the film title.
Clue: it's not 'secret'.

Sorry Schiz I misunderstood you earlier post - when you said that the song was a rather obscure one from a very well known band and a Bond film I assumed that the song was from the film

Anyway as I can't recall any even obscure tracks which include the words 'Majesty' or 'Service' and you've ruled out 'Secret' I'm guessing the link word must be 'Her' so I'll try

Hymn to Her - The Pretenders
Five Ribbons in her Hair - McFly
Fantastic Day - Haircut 100
I Saw her Standing There - Beatles?

Schiz - I've just remembered - I'm sure on the Beatles A - Z on SOTS a while ago I did hear a track called 'Her Majesty' or something like that

Am I right or am I imagining it because I might have been half asleep at the time Smile

I prseume that as Lennon & McCartney wrote Do You want to Know a Secret which was a hit for Billy J Kramer that there is a version on one of their early albums.

Ruddles, correct! 'Her Majesty' is the last track on Abbey Road.
Possibly my favourite album of all time. At last you've been rewarded for listening to SOTS.

Graham, yes, The Beatles' 'Do You Want To Know A Secret' was on the Please Please Me album. I much prefer Billy J Kramer's version though.

I think I deserve a year's supply of champagne for getting that one Schiz Laughing - it was a real stinker and I would never have got it without clues and a lot of luck and Mr Swern's help

Anyway I think this might just be the time where I get my revenge

Michelle - The Overlanders
Self Control - Laura Brannigan
Drowning in Berlin - The Mobiles

When I did this live a couple of weeks ago nobody guessed it even with extra clues but as I know you're a resourceful lot on here I'll wish you best of luck so what's the link? Smile

Very well done Angel - I thought that was really difficult but you never can really tell with these links

There's quite a few options for the fourth track if you think about it Smile

No sorry Angel - there are quite a few more petrol brands contained in song titles and artists names - you just need to think about it

I'll come up with a musical clue after a while if people still don't get the right answer Smile
