I finally got round to listening today, tuned in for the first hour while waiting for JW's show to start. IMHO it is still as good as ever. Shame it is no longer on Radio York where I could tune in the radio, its not the same being stuck near a computer, but never mind......its better than what Radio 2 is putting out at the same time. I will listen to the second hour after JW. _________________ Pirate Johnnie Walker played my request on 11 April 2009 |

Is this show produced on a sort of network syndication basis? Given that it tends to jump around the BBC local stations it would appear that it's offered to any BBC station that wants it and who then schedule it as they choose. |

I think so Colin, Mark M will know! Our local station dropped it because there were not enough listeners and its no wonder when they didn't advertise it. _________________ Pirate Johnnie Walker played my request on 11 April 2009 |

Yes Angela-completely agree with you-an excellent listen.
Believe it is also repeated again on Radio Cumbria on a Wednesday evening.
Colin is absolutely correct in his above summary.
Believe one or two other BBC local stations are interesting in taking the show in 2011-(before anyone asks me how I know that, Richard himself advised me in an e-mail a while back, when I asked him that very question). |

Is the show a BBC Radio production or is it the product of a company in which RA has an interest? I'd like to think it were the latter, given the way that he's treated by the appalling and incompetent R2 management.
Personally I'd like to see a new independent network branded "Radio Caroline" (the best radio station currently operating in the UK and then some) and featuring the UK's best presenters - and Richard will be on the list as far as I'm concerned. It really does annoy me to see the way he and others of his calibre are treated by R2.
In fact, "Allinson's Albums" is ideal for Radio Caroline right now! |
