Just wanted to say thanks for setting this board up....whilst the Radio 2 one is filled with many OTT views it nevertheless should not be closed just because some of the jocks get criticism.

My take on Radio 2 is that it is okay but unfortunately going in the wrong direction. I cannot comment on the weekday schedule as I don't often get to listen to it at work but I have no problem with Terry or Ken. Jeremy's show in my opinion is not necessary on Radio 2 (Five Live is more than adequate if you want Current Affairs) and Steve Wright would always make me re-tune as his show is well past it's sell by date. I've never listened to Sarah or Chris so cannot comment. The Evening schedules are fine and seem to be varied and fulfilling the BBC's remit of fairly diverse programming. I have no problems with Friday Nights and Sunday Nights having their niche programming although not my cup of tea as Saturdays is really Radio 1.5 now except for Sound of the Sixties and also not my cup of tea except Gambo. It makes me chuckle that all the 30 somethings get upset with 2 nights of older age group entertainment yet they have a whole day almost of their stuff without much moaning from the older generation !!

I tend to find Listen Again is my saviour particularly Gambo's show, some Mark Lamarr, Bob Harris etc and some of the Documentaries. There are also lots of Local Radio Shows that are good i.e DLT Three Counties, Richard Skinner BBC Berks, Mary Fox Northern Soul BBC Stoke, Tony Blackburn Soul BBC London.

I really am at the stage that I feel Radio 2 Gold would be the next step and have the DJ's for my age (42) - Andy Peebles, Tony Blackburn, Diddy David Hamilton, John Sachs and not the Ross's, O'Leary's, Brand's, and more celebrity orientated presenters. Lady BoilDeSpudsWell always echoed my view on the Radio 2 MB.

Radio 2 is still way better than Radio 1 and in general is good but I find the Big L, Easy Radio DAB, VIP Radio getting more listens each week.

Eat to the beat fellow boarders !!
