|
|
It is amusing that the BBC & other news outlets seek to portray the mobs in Egypt as "pro-Democracy".
Considering that the organization leading the riots is the Muslim Brotherhood, a violent Jihadist organization that wants an Iranian-styled Islamist theocracy to replace the Mubarak regime.
I found this quote on the net which sumarises what the leaders of this "uprising" are about
------
By far the largest party involved with the riots is called the "Muslim Brotherhood" and they have been around since the 1920's.
Their goals include:
•reinstatement of the caliphate and reunite the "dar el Islam".
•Administrative discipline
•Recruitment and settlement of the Dawa'a
•Dawa'ah (the lecture/speech of religion)
•Media (influencing of and infiltration in the media)
•Taking advantage of human potentials (e.g. infiltration in education, civil organisations)
In the 1930's they aligned themselves with the Nazi's and began a series of anti-Jewish , anti-American and anti-British propaganda campaigns.
They have strong beliefs about the benefits of civilian suicide bombing
They have strong financial ties to the current Neo-Nazi movement.
In other words - the Muslim Brotherhood are fascists trying to take control of a currently unstable situation. I'm not saying the current Egyptian regime is all unicorns and bunnies - but I AM SAYING that we should understand that the people trying to now overthrow it are right wing Religious Fascists.
Know what you may be supporting Reddit . We're talking about putting an organization with open ties to both Al-Queda and Neo-Nazis back into power.
TL;DR : The riots are being primarily sponsored by the Muslim Brotherhood, a right wing religious fascist organization with direct ties to Al-Queda and Neo-Nazis7 commentssharecancelall 7 comments

Obama is being an idiot by threatening to cut off supplies to Egypt unless Mubarak gives in to these fanatics
He should be putting everyt effort in to support the Free Worlds ally, Mubarak, in Egypt. The US should make it clear they will support Mubarak using ANY MEANS to qwuel these rioters
The result of a failure to do so will see the Middle east go up in flames & will have disasterous repercusions for the rest of the world too. |

To be honest, I'd hate to have that job. So many decisions that could have huge implications, & whatever you do, people are going to attack you |

I wonder if this will continue to happen right across the Arab, Muslim and Islam countries? |

I think the Islam countries will be more affected than the Muslim ones. Or is it the other way round? When's Ramadan again? It will all go quiet that month. |

That is the danger. If Egypt falls to the Islamists, this will be disasterous for the region. Iran already controls Lebanon & Gaza if tyhey get Egypt & Jordan as well, the future looks very bleak |

Yes, but if it falls to the Islams, won't the Muslims get a bit shirty? |

Jesting apart it is a real worry and I think Clive is right
Egyptian fundamentalists have very strong links to al qaeda there is no doubt about that. We saw evidence of this when we visited in 1997 just before the mass shooting at Luxor. When we were there 3 Spanish tourists were shot dead and it wasn't really reported apart from on the world service, primarily because it coincided with the bomb alert at the Grand National. We were told about it by a local after a visit up the Nile and the worrying security we were subjected to protect us and wondered why they had done that. We also got very bad advice from the Thompson rep at the time.
Egypt is a far more strict Islamic country than it was in the 1970's/80's then it would have been a rare thing to see a woman in a full burka, now particularly in the South it is very common place.
The problem is he probably is a bad president but Clive is right they are not offering a pro-democracy alternative that is the worry, agree very foolish of the White House to threaten sanctions perhaps Obama was badly briefed!!!
I love Egypt well the ancient Egypt I really hope there is no more damage to the artifacts and let's face it tourism is vital to their economy without it they will be destitute particularly upper Egypt there is virtually no agriculture as the banks of the Nile are so sparse, since the ludicrous Aswan Dam was built. |

Also Obama says that Mubarak should not sanction force against "peaceful protestors"
So far these "peaceful porotestors" have killed ten police officers, burned down government buildings & engaged in widespread looting |

It's such a shame as Egypt and the surrounding areas are so nice to visit. tourism in that part of the country is going to be hit for many years to come. It happened in Tunsia a place I have visited, which probarly has been also effected by tourism. |

Tunsia is a nice place to visit, by all accounts. It's not far from Egypt is it? Just up the coast a bit I think. Well, it's in Africa anyhow. |

Yeah, it's close, like 1000 miles west of Cairo.
So if we include Tunisia in the SURROUNDING AREA, let's add Gaza, oh and Lebanon.

I remember as a kid in the 1960s watching a dodgy BBC2 drama of 'Eyeless In Gaza' with my folks, and there was a scene where I think I saw my first naked woman on telly, cavorting with a bloke on an apartment block roof, and a small plane flew by, dropped a dog on them, and they were spattered with blood. Funny how I remember that _________________ -

Just watching Sky News. The Egyptian mob Pres Obama- & Cameron & Milliband- find so "inspiring" have set upon the brave Mubarak supporters who went out to expresss support for their president.
Numerous Mubarak supporters have been set upon by Obama's mobs & beaten them to a pulp.
An ambulence that came to rescue one of the guys has been set upon by the mob. Ambulance men dragged out & threatened.
Is this what that idiot Obama finds so inspiring??? |

None of you understand Egypt and what a despot Mubarak is..
The people have been held back and watched by a mob of thugs for the past 30 years. You all go for your nice little holidays cocooned in a shell. Go and speak to the real people who live there. They are frightened to speak their mind...someone is always listening...I know I have sat next to plain clothed police who tried to listen to what I was saying...very creepy.
The demonstrators were peaceful till day 9 after Mubaraks speach. Then the police were employed to go as mobsters and paid 20 Egyptian pounds to fight. This is well documented om BBC, SKY and Aljerzera.
Obama UK and EU misjudged the people.Pumping in billions in money...none of which the people of Egypt saw. They could only think of the Israelies... and the UK.... of holidaymakers (for their money) UK is the only country not advising people to stay away point blank.
The protesters have nothing to do with the Muslim Brotherhod.....at the moment....it is completly secular....But if one sided articles like Clive 55 quoted they will fall into their hands.......
I have lived there for over 5 years... the west needs to get facts right before they start stirring up problems.
Mubarak is a corrupt tyrant and despot.....get the facts right. He has governed like many in the Arab strates with fear and threats for 30 years....we get pissed of after 5 years ...but at least can vote someone else in....... _________________ I like hedgehog crisps |

I hope they are fine but I would imagine it can be difficult to stay out of it when so close to what hopefully will end up being a free and democratic secular country.

Hi RB,
great pic I don't imagine that will make the right wing press with their agenda. It has a similarity to the tank in Tianaman Sq picture. _________________ You will hear gospel and rhythm and blues and jazz, all those are just labels, we know that music is music. |

Just like Germany in the 1930's, isn't it? The English aristocracy adored the Nazis & found the Nazi takeover "very inspiring"
I know all about Egypt. I was a kid in Israel in 1967 when Abdul Nasser threatened to "push the Jews into the sea".
Egypt has done well under sadat & Mubarak in leaving genocidal, Nazi polotics behind
The Muslim Brotherhood was founded by an ardent Nazi & was funded by the Third reich. Look it up
Now they are about to take power & cause a new holocaust & war in the middle east.
BTW, the Islamists really did a nice trick on the west
While we were hunting Osama Bin Laden, they prepared one of their own to run the western world
To make it even funnier they gave him a first name almost identical to Bin Ladens- OBAMA. No wonder he is no longer looking for Bin Laden & is handing Egypt over to Al Quaida |

Yes I am. And a number of my rewlatives came from Egypt.
Do a google search on the Muslim Brotherhood & their links with the third reich. One of the Muslim Brotherhoods' leading idealogues stated that Nazism was a "rising of the German people against Jewish Domination".
He stated that "Hitler did not go far enough.. we need to finish the job (exterminating the Jews") |

Hey, at least he didn't gas them. They should be thankful!!
What do you mean "I rest my case"?
I am biased because I am Jewish?
Sure I am. I don't want to see a new Holocaust against the Jewish people.
I'm biased against Adolf Hitler as well.
Do you think the Holocaust was OK, then??

Iranian Dictator Ahmajinidad has praised the Islamist bunch in Cairo & Alexandria
Surprise, surprise.
BTW, the Jews were in Egypt long before any British had even heard of the country.
Jews were an integral part of Egyptian society till that fanatic arab Hitler, Abdul Nasser, came to power & "ethnicly cleansed" Egypt of ALL Jews.
Stole their propertyt too. |
