People are getting over weight so the NHS are upgrading ambulances to cope with this. It will include reinforcing them and specalist lifting equipment fitted.

This has been on Jezza. I think overly large people should wear those boots with the little wheels in the bottom, then they could be pushed around more easily. |

It's not just ambulances, I heard Jeremy talking about this on Radio 2, it's getting difficult to find undertakers that have extra large freezers, so people are stuck with their fat relatives even after they have died. I heard a women caller saying " Her husband had a heart attack on there boat, and it took 14 ambulance staff to lift him off ( I don't know how big he was ). She said " Even the hospitals had to find a big enough bed for him" When he died he was left on a bed, because there wasn't a bigger enough freezer to put him in. He was even buried in a crate, as there wasn't a coffin bigger enough. Vine was also speaking about everything should be made bigger, like football stadium seats etc. |
