I listened to this on the I-player and was very touched by David Arnold's interview about Barry.
See, he was appreciated despite what the Sunday Express would have us believe! _________________ We are loonies and we are proud!

Sorry Avid. What what was wrong with the Sunday Express? Well, apart from the usual, obviously _________________ I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. |

The Sunday Express made out that if John Barry had been French or American, he'd have received some honour whereas he didn't in his own country.
I didn't like the way they lumped him together with Bruce 'Takes The Mick Out Of Northeners' Forsyth as never having received a knighthood. _________________ We are loonies and we are proud!

I did think that if had one five Oscars for acting or directing then he would he would have been Sir John Barry long ago, instead of CBE
I liked David Arnold's remark on the Today programme. "Without John Barry James Bond wouldn't have been quite so cool"
What was the progrmme on 6 music? I might see if I can work this listen again thingy _________________ I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. |
