Police have warned senior Labour figures to stop putting "undue pressure" on officers investigating "cash-for-honours" claims.
David Blunkett is right it's not as if she was about to leave the country, and it was like the investigation was drying up so they had to start to get the ball rolling again and knock on someones door for an early morning raid. It doesn't look good really she's not a terriost. |

Best time to catch her in the house, though - they'd be almost certain she was there at that time in the morning, which is the usual time they come knocking if it's an important or high-profile operation. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

I was once questioned in connection with a murder
In Edinburgh. Body was found in garden across the road, and I had mysteriously gone away, but they caught up with me at my mum's. Convinced them I had left Edinburgh before the time of death |

But four officers??!! To arrrest a 30yr old woman PA - not a thief, life taker, GBH case - it's a bit overkill.
If she's broke the law then fine, ok but the poor woman must have got the shock of her life. _________________ Some say he once threw a microwave oven at a tramp and that all his potted plants are called 'Steve'.....all we know is, he's called 'The Stig!'. |

SOP - two out the front, two out the back. Until she's questioned, they don't know 100% she is innocent despite 'innocent until proven guilty'; if the police want to question someone, it's easier for them to assume that they might be part of it until they convince them otherwise. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

S'okay - there must be some kind of time delay here as sometimes I can't post my responses immediately, and the screen keeps defaulting to 'Preview' maybe six or seven times until it finally posts.

She would have confessed to everything if they had left her in the interview room with Pete Mitchell's show on the tape player. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

You can just imagine the next episode of "The Bill":
Suspect: "Aren't you putting a tape in that machine to record this interview?"
Copper: "No, we thought we'd let you listen to Steve Wright in the Afternoon. Unless you want to confess, of course."
Suspect "No! Anything but that, please!!!!!"

One driver to stay with the vehicle, one female officer to ensure the dignity of the arrested person while she dresses and two other officers to effect the arrest and carry any relevant documents/computers from the address.
The lady is working from the same office that "lost" the "dodgy dossier".
She has been arrested in connection with an alleged attempt to pervert the course of justice. The allegation is that a conspiracy to undermine democracy in this country was perpetrated by the incumbent government. That IS terrorism.
Blunkett's rant reminds me of Violet Kray.."My boys are good boys."
Makes me heave. _________________ Standing on Ray Moore's shoulders |
