Then I'll be off to watch Wild at Heart at 8, and if I can stay awake I'll watch Trial & Retribution afterwards. I'll have to tape tomorrow's episode cos I'm back in work on Tuesday.

We used to buy apfelcorn and keep it in the freezer as it was too sweet to drink otherwise, you had to drink it down in one go and the locals would cheer you on, in our local bar.

PS I have been teetotal since 1980! Maybe it was the apfelcorn?

Apfelcorn is a type of apple snaps, very sweet and strong, very pleasant ice cold, but very sickly at room temperature.

- why don't you english have the smoking ban that we do in the sensible north of the uk?  I *still* smell of smoke - it won't go away- eurgh

July 1st in England, April 2nd in Wales.
However, the smoke is so ingrained into the fabric of every pub that I reckon that, until they're defumigated and redecorated you'll still come home after a night out smelling kippered.

...july seems so far away!
you would have thought the places would still smell of smoke - but believe it's fine and so much nicer than sitting thier inhaling that rank smoke all night
