I've just discovered that the Light Fantastic concert by the John Wilson Orchestra ,originally broadcast on Radio 3 in the summer is to be shown on BBC Four on Friday 21st October at 7.30.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/proginfo/tv/2011/wk42/fri.shtml#fri_light

It was originally set for later around Christmas so a pleasant surprise to find it's on earlier!

Enjoyed every second of this. A repeat on BBC2 (or, dare one hope, BBC1?) would be just great.

Yes I loved it all too. It was good to hear The Three Elizabeths Suite all the way through. Was anyone immediately transported back to 1967 and The Forsyte Saga at the start of the first movement?

Glad you all enjoyed it! I was away but managed to record it using the manual settings on Sky+ and still have it to watch.

Finally managed to watch this at last and it was well worth it.

Coronation Scot has always been a favourite of mine, my parents had it on a 78! I think the other side was the Down Your Way theme and also Paul Temple?
