Whilst I'll shed no more tears for Gadaffi than I did for Saddam Hussein (none whatsoever) both were evil creatures to their people. One thing I have noticed that both these campaigns have in common, and that is Oil. Both their countries are abundant in it. I can't help but wonder how much this was a factor in Libya. Still no-one has helped those oppressed in another African state ruled by an evil dictator - Zimbabwe. Perhaps there's no oil there, is there?

Afghanistan too don't forget, I noticed last week some sabre ratting regarding Iran, they have plenty of oil too of course.
I agree with you, if we are in the habit of disposing evil dictators surely Mugabe would be at the top of the list.

I am glad Gadaffi is dead but I still don't think we should have got involved in this conflict.

We clearly should not have got involved in Libya not least because we are a small country with a massive budget deficit and frankly we cannot afford it and I don't see that there's any benefit in it for hard pressed British taxpayers

Like most other people I'm glad to see the back of an evil dictator but we don't really yet know what regime is likely to replace him

Already there are divisions in the new ruling group and from past experience in the region there's no guarantee that the overthrow of Gadaffi will result in the creation of a democratic state
